Equi-First Aid USA Instructor
A lifelong horse-owner, Dana has combined her love of teaching and passion for horses in Big Sky Equine First-Aid Courses. While obtaining her B.S. in Elementary Education from Montana State University in Bozeman, she also became a PATH (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship) Registered Riding Instructor, an Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning, and is a Trained PATH Mentor.
Throughout her nine-year position as an Assistant Program Director and Equine Manager for a year-round therapeutic riding facility, she gained valuable insight into the routine care and management specific to therapeutic riding horses, while learning the value of preventative care and handling emergencies appropriately and quickly, since budgets at non-profits can be small! Her background knowledge is applicable to riders across all levels, ages, and types of riding.
Combining her instructing and teaching talents, as well as lifetime of experiences caring for horses across many disciplines, Big Sky Equine First Aid was born out of a desire to empower people to help their horses when unexpected incidents arise, that require action for the horse's safety and well-being.
Teaching imparts knowledge, instructing imparts skills. Dana is excited to combine both of these to deliver valuable, worthwhile, and relevant content to equip you to handle whatever your horse throws at you!
